Based on a tracer study done in 2021, the alumni of EEEP that works in the educational sector as lecturer/ teacher of junior high or vocational school is approximately around 25.3 %, 47.2% as employee/ staff, 13% as an entrepreneur, and the rest in the field of consulting, mechanical and electrical engineering. The distribution of the types of alumni’s jobs can be seen in Figure as Shown.

The growth of technology in electronic engineering are automation, robotics systems, alternative energy, and nanotechnology. Therefore, the Electronic Engineering alumni have greater opportunities and challenges in the future. The career opportunity that can be owned by the alumni of electronic engineering are:
1. Junior high and vocational school teacher
2. Professional instructor in training and educational institute in the industrial training center
3. Curriculum designer in a junior high and vocational school. The study program curriculum is designed not only to produce competent teachers but also for its graduates
4. Employee/ staff in a company that is engaged in infrastructure Electronic for Information Technology

2. Industry Focus and The Competency Profile

EEEP alumni are mostly employed in the education, infrastructure, and enterprise sectors. Therefore, based on a tracer study in 2021, EEEP graduates are focused on producing the following graduate profiles:
Electronic instructor
Becoming a professional instructor in the field of business and industrial. The ability to guide and supervise the trainee in gaining knowledge and skill to do the job is required. The instructor together with the planning staff, training needs analyzers, facility maintenance, training managers, supervisors, and the institution managers are defined as the training staff in the job training process.
1. Electronic Engineering Staff
Becoming the engineering staff in the industrial field. It takes the ability to apply the occupational and environmental safety and health management system (K3L), collecting the type of service data, quality, and quantity electronical and telecommunication services, making a network plan for the required Electronic and telecommunication, sketching a networking plan, and Electronic and telecommunications appliances. Also, it needed the ability to calculate the needs of the materials, equipment, manpower for networks installation, electronic and telecommunication equipment, arranging the schedule of procurement, installation, and maintenance of network and the appliances of electronic and telecommunication service, installing the network and the appliances of electronic and telecommunication service.
2. Robotics and Mechatronics Technician
The robot technician is responsible for developing robots in a wider range such as the robot used in the production line of automotive companies and the robot that attached in hazard activities, designing robots according to specific work capacity and purposes, selecting good quality spare parts in building a robot plan, collecting information about the latest trend of robot design, maintenance robotics equipment related with the production process. To become a robot technician requires competence in the basic engineering fields of mechanics and Electronic.
3. Software Engineer
A software engineer has the ability to analyze, engineering, compiling specifications, implementing, and validate a software design to answer a problem.
4. Computer Networking Architect
Has the ability in designing and implementing computer and information networking, as in Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), internet, extranet, and other communication networks. Conduct research and recommend hardware network, data communication, and software that helps efficiency and effectivity of internet network/ communication devices within a company/ organization.
5. Network system and Computer Administrator
Has the ability to maintain and managing computer networks and related computational environments, including hardware, system software, application software, and all configuration. Performs data backup and recovery operations after a disaster. Diagnosing, solving problems, and solving hardware, software, or network problem and other system problem, and changing broken components if needed. Planning, coordinating, and implementing network security to protect data, software, and hardware. Cofigurating, monitoring, and maintenance email application or virus protection software.
EEEP is a science that focuses on the application of electronic engineering and computer science. EEEP is a science consisting of non-linear electrical and electronic components and devices and electric currents such as electron tubes, and semiconductor devices, especially transistors, diodes, and integrated circuits, etc. It is used to design electronic circuits, devices, and systems. In EEEP, the weak current electricity is studied, including electrical circuits, transistors, ICs, and so on, and a little about strong current electricity. In addition, EEEP is concerned with the implementation of applications, principles, and algorithms developed in many related fields, for example, solid-state physics, radio engineering, telecommunications, control systems, signal processing, systems engineering, computer engineering, instrumentation engineering, electric power control, and robotics.

3. Synergy Benefits Based on The Collaboration With Industry

EEEP’s collaboration with industry and related institutions has been well established for many years. Collaboration of institutions and agencies including government agencies, companies or industry, and universities both nationally and internationally. The collaboration aspects with industry and institutions include research collaboration, education (skills) by utilizing facilities/equipment for fieldwork students, student internships, final assignments, and community service.

Several national and regional agencies have collaborated with electronic engineering programs such as PT Sari Technology, PT PLN, etc. The collaborations include cooperation in developing the quality of education, research, and research for internship programs. Besides that, there are several cooperation with some other educational institutions.

4. Professional Qualification Conferred by The Degree

The bachelor’s title of electronic engineering is obtained after completing a minimum of 144 credits (216 ECTS). Based on Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF) issued by the Directorate General of Higher Education of Indonesia that undergraduate degrees are classified at level 6 (see in Appendix 8). IQF is a work qualification framework that combines, equalizes, integrates education, training, and work experience to provide recognition of competence by graduates’ work degrees.

Graduates also receive a diploma supplement from the university. Additional Diploma (DS) is an official statement issued by a higher education institution, which contains information on academic achievement or qualifications of graduates of a higher education level. Graduate qualifications are described in the form of a descriptive narrative that states the graduate’s learning achievement at the relevant IQF level, in a standard format that is easily understood by the general public. DS is not a substitute for a diploma and is not an academic transcript.

5. Placement of Graduates on The Labor Market

The graduate placement information in the job market is carried out by tracer study. Tracer studies were conducted in 2010, 2015, and 2019. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed on various social networks such as Facebook, WhatsApp groups, mailing lists, emails, and sending emails to users of EEEP graduates. In addition, the EEE Study Program also provides tracer studies on the EEEP web http://ft.unj.ac.id/elektronika as the source of information.
The measurement by tracer study conducted in 2021 shows:
1. The traced number of graduates is 98 alumni.
2. The type of job of the alumni is the job related with the educational field as lecturer/ junior high and vocational school teacher as much as 25.3%, 29.3% of employees/staff in the company, 17.2% in the infrastructure sector including IT infrastructure, and the rest in the fields of civil servants, consultants, mechanical and electrical engineering. The result of the tracer study is used to assess the achievement and evaluation of PLO.

6. Demand on Industry

Based on the results of the tracer study in 2021, around 47% of EEEP alumni work in the industry, while around 25% of alumni who work in education such as middle/vocational teachers, trainers, and mentors. Companies where alumni work range from local, national to international companies. Based on the distribution of EEEP alumni jobs contained in Figure Below, it can be seen that 17% of EEEP alumni work in international companies, 57% work in national companies, and the rest work for the government.
