Friday, 18 December 2020 at 09.00 – 11.00 WIB UNJ Civil Engineering Clump in collaboration with PT. Putra Baja Deli held a Webinar or Public Lecture with the theme “Production Process and Tensile Test Procedure of Steel Bar and Ensuring The Validity of Result” . This Public Lecture is a lecture activity that brings practitioners from industry. It aims to provide technical insight into the production process and tensile test of steel to students. Present as resource persons were Mr. Mislan, ST, MT who is a Quality Assurance ManagerPT. Son of Baja Deli. Before the presentation session by the resource person, Mrs. Lenggogeni, MT, as the representative of the study program coordinator delivered a speech. In his remarks, he explained that this public lecture was a follow-up to the collaboration that had been established since 2019.
At the beginning of the presentation, the informant explained that the raw materials for reinforcing steel, both plain and fins, were billets produced by hot rolling or hot rolling processes. In this case PT. Putra Baja Deli is a producer of plain and fin reinforcing steel since 2004 and its production process reaches 600,000 tons per year. The factory is located in the Wilmar Integrated Industrial Estate, Bojonegara, Teluk Terate, Kramatwatu, Serang, Banten Province.
The event ran smoothly and the participants were quite enthusiastic during the question and answer session. This activity was attended by 200 students consisting of S1 students of Building Engineering Education Class of 2018 and 2019, as well as D3 Civil Engineering Classes of 2018, 2019, and 2020. At the end of the activity, the resource person offered the students to be able to visit the factory and invited if there were students who want to collaborate to carry out research, both for thesis and final project.
